Miguel's Biography Page

Miguel's older half-brother is Edwin, who is seven years older than Miguel. Edwin has no contact with his family until 2006, when he was reconnected with his grandmother. He found his mom and siblings shortly afterwards living in southern Honduras. Then, in 2008 Edwin discovered that his mom and siblings had moved to Tegucigalpa and were living in a shack under a bridge in precarious circumstances. In early 2009, the Micah Project helped the family move into a room closer to the Micah House after Miguel's dad was attacked and shot under the bridge in front of the whole family. In June of 2009, Miguel officially joined the Micah Project.

Although Miguel and his brother Edwin were not raised together, they have one thing in common: an incredibly off-beat and non-stop sense of humor! As a 14 year old in 2009, Miguel studied in the fifth grade. Above: he poses as Emperor Miguel while on our spiritual retreat in November 2009.

Miguel's family lived in this shack under one of Tegucigalpa's bridges for two years. In 2009, the Micah Project helped them rent a room in a safer environment.
